Bowen State High School is committed to providing quality educational outcomes to all students. 2014 was very successful for year 12. 100% of year 12 students achieved a Queensland Certificate of Education. This was an increase from 95% of students that achieved their QCE in 2013. 70.9% Year 12 students received a Certificate II or III qualification in the areas of Fitness, Resource Infrastructure, Pharmacy, Hospitality, Automotive, Childcare Services and Floristry. This was an increase of over 25% from 2013.

Students at Bowen State High School are encouraged to continue their studies after graduating year 12. 28 students studies for an Overall Position in 2014. 100% of these students achieve between an OP1-15. This is a fantastic result for Bowen SHS and is very difficult to achieve by any school. Special mention to Susanna Connolly and Arania Sivasubramaniam who achieved OP1’s, along with QCAA commendation awards from the Queensland Government for their high academic success.

100% of students that applied for University have received an offer to study in 2015.  The year 12 students who applied for tertiary education in 2015 received offers to study at Universities, including JCU, UQ, QUT, and QCU. Our students will be the community’s future Teachers, Doctors, Engineers, Scientists, Lawyers, Nurses and Game Designers.

The Bowen State High School community congratulates all 2014 graduates and in 2015 will continue to set high expectations for our students to achieve their Queensland Certificate of Education and to exit year 12 with the literacy, numeracy and employability skills to secure future tertiary placements or full time employment and training post schooling.
