Love Bites is a school based program aimed at teenagers between the ages of 14yrs -17yrs that promotes a clear consistent community approach to the issues of Domestic and Family Violence and Sexual Assault from workers and teachers in the local area.

The Love Bites Program promotes healthy relationships and consists of two interactive workshops on Domestic and Family Violence and Sexual Assault.

Year 10 students are involved in workshops that consolidate the information, from the workshops, by working alongside the students to develop posters/poetry/creating a song/ad or a drama performance around the prevention of violence and abuse for their community. These resources will then be placed on display around the community and used as resources for future groups.

Bowen State High School, in conjunction with Whitsunday Crisis and Counselling Service, Relationships Australia, Cent care, PCYC and the Girudala Cooperativewill be hosting the Love Bites Program each Tuesday from the 21 April 2015 – 23 June 2015 for Year 10 students.
