The students at Bowen State High School constantly strive to achieve excellent educational outcomes with the support of the teachers, administration, parents and community.
We encourage and reward student achievement in both school work community participation. Bowen SHS values student who represent our school and demonstrate our values of respect, responsibility and safety in the classroom, playground and whilst representing the school in the community. Many of our students consistently demonstrate these outstanding qualities reflecting students who are: responsible, respectful and safe. Such role models are highly valued at Bowen State High School and it is our goal to encourage all students to reach for this level and to reward those who do. Their achievement is recognised on school parade through receiving a Gold Card and a certificate.
A gold card is a card containing, the student’s name, photograph, education number, expiry date and school logo. This is issued by the school’s Leadership Committee and is valid until the end of this school year. The card entitles students to access many local and surrounding businesses. These businesses support the program through offering discounts or deals the local businesses that have provided discounts or special offers to these students are also included on the back of the gold card.
