School Chaplain - Jeremy Prior
Hi my name is Jeremy Prior and I am the new school
chaplain at Bowen State High School. My role as a school chaplain is to
provide social emotional and spiritual support to students, staff and families
in our school community. I also run in school programs, provide individual and
group mentoring and in class support.
I would like to share with you about chaplaincy and what
I do as a chaplain.
Connect lunchtime program - Friday 2nd break
A
program that I run at the school is connect which is a lunchtime program that
is on Friday 2nd break. The lunchtime program is a program that gives all
students the opportunity to come together for games, activities and with a
positive life message and application in a safe supported environment.
Boys Group - Wednesday after school
Boys
Group is a boys program that I run on Wednesday afternoon which is based around
sports. Within this program we play various types of sports which help promote
teamwork, healthy eating and fitness.
Breakfast program - Monday
Every
Monday morning outside the tuckshop I am cooking pancakes for all students and
staff, providing food for those who didn’t have any breakfast and also for
those who would like a little more. Breakfast program is a place for everyone
to feel welcomed with a joyful and positive atmosphere. Everyone is welcome to
come.
