INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PROGRAM
Bowen State High School offers a comprehensive Instrumental Music Program to interested
students. Students receive tuition (35-minute group lessons) during school time on a woodwind,
brass or percussion instrument. Furthermore, students participate in the school ensemble, - the
concert band.
All students enrolled in the Bowen State High School Instrumental Music Program will incur the
following costs:
• Levy - $50 per year (all students pay this levy)
• Instrument Hire Fee - $50 per year (only students who hire a school instrument will be
charged this fee)
These fees assist the school to provide a quality Instrumental Music Program.
They help to offset
some of the costs associated with the running of the program including:
• Regional instrumental music coordination levy
• Furniture and storage of equipment
• Maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment
• Purchase of new instruments and equipment
• Purchase of music and repertoire
• Maintenance of music library (resource material)
• Photocopying of resources for student learning
• Freight costs (on delivery of new equipment and repairs)
• Various consumables
