Welcome to Bowen State High School!
Your P&C representatives are made up of a group of
dedicated volunteers and parents, from a broad cross-section of careers. Our
mission is to deliver assistance to our student body by way of providing
much-needed resources or financial assistance, and providing our kids with
opportunities they might not otherwise have the chance to experience.
During 2018, the P&C provided in excess of $20,000 worth
of assistance to Bowen State High School. This assistance provided
technological upgrades, classroom facilities, financial assistance for major
excursions and sporting events, and healthy breakfasts for students during exam
blocks and Naplan testing.
P&C meetings are held on the third Monday of each month
(except during school holidays) in the school library, and commence at 6pm.
We try our best to keep the length of our meetings to about an hour. These
meetings are a great opportunity for parents and teachers to discuss what has
been happening in our school, and to talk about upcoming events. We invite you
to come along, even if it’s just once, and see how we work. We are a friendly
bunch, and we love seeing new faces!
Our school tuckshop – the “Snack Shack” - is the P&C’s
main source of income. It is ably run by paid staff and volunteers that supply
an amazing range of healthy lunch options. In 2017, our tuckshop was recognised
by the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops as having one of the Top 10
menus in the state for Secondary Schools.
Our tuckshop uses the “Flexischool” system, which allows
parents to order their child’s lunch online from home. Kids can also order
themselves at the tuckshop before school using their ID Card, which can be
topped up with funds. We strongly encourage pre-orders, as it cuts down waiting
times for all students at break times.

High School P&C, feel free to email us at pandc@bowenshs.eq.edu.au.
We look forward to meeting you!
