Guidance Officer - Lauren Doyle and Stan Larkin
The school has access
to a full time Guidance Officer to assist students in meeting their personal,
educational and vocational outcomes.
While at school, the Guidance Officer:
· contributes to the
development of a comprehensive student support and wellbeing framework and
inclusive education program that is responsive to the needs of the school
community
· may work directly with
students, teachers, school support teams, family/parents, other specialists and
external providers to enable optimal outcomes for all students
The Guidance Officer can assist with:
· Individual student
support (short term counselling and referrals to external agencies)
· Student advocacy in
areas of wellbeing and inclusion
· Behaviour support and
development of personalised plans, safety/risk management plans etc...
· Psychometric
assessments and verifications
· Presentation of
workshops
· Consult with and
oversee Student Support Services team
· Monitor QCE attainment
and support
· Support Teacher
Wellbeing
· Parent Interviews and
support
· Careers’ support
(Careers website, SET planning, Subject selections, Careers counselling)
· University access and
support for support (QTAC/ AARA)
