Student led conferences (SLC) form an integral part of helping our junior secondary students reflect on past data and set specific goals that will enable them to move forward in individual subjects. As the name suggests, these conferences are led by the student with a parent and a member of teaching staff for support and guidance.
The focus of the conference is the student and supporting them to make decisions that will be beneficial toward attaining the career that they wish to pursue. Throughout the course of the interview students will discuss their classwork, feedback that has been provided by their teachers and their level of achievement in relation to the class. It is from this discussion and reflection that specific and time measured goals are set so that students have a path to follow in achieving their goals.
